Field Visit

Field Visit

On the afternoon of the 5th of July, 2023, participants will gain insight into precision agriculture technology solutions and the UNIBO activities of the Italian Agritech research center. The field visit will be held in Cadriano (BO) in the experimental farm of the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. A shuttle service will be provided to all the participants.

Programme of the field visit:

15.00 Meeting in the parking area of the venue
15.00 – 15.30 Transfer from the venue to the field
15.30 – 17.30 Visit of the topic stations
17.30 Meeting in the parking area of Cadriano
17.30 – 18.00 Transfer to the venue

Topic stations:

• Station n. 1: The Cadriano’s Living Lab of the Italian National Agritech (Speaker Luca Corelli Grappadelli – Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna)

  • Station n.2: Application of innovative technologies on the future orchard system (Speaker Luigi Manfrini – Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna)

  • Station n.3: A novel fruit-zone cooling system to face multiple summer stress in vineyard (Speaker Gianluca Allegro – Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna)

  • Station n.4: Innovative robotic autonomous platform for precision agriculture: a new concept of an electric multi-purpose tractor to handle farming tasks in orchards and vineyards. The interaction with the surrounding environment is exploited to improve the quality of operations and reduce costs (speaker Dario Mengoli – Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna)

• Station n. 5: Electrophysical weed control technology (Speaker Guido Fastellini – CNH Industrial). All products of the XPower family use high-voltage electronics and state of the art engineering to eliminate target plants effectively and minimise the usage of chemical herbicides. The XPower technology enables a cost-effective weed control which is becoming increasingly essential to ensure the high yields and the harvest quality in arable crop rotations but also in perennial crops such as vine and fruit growing orchards

• Other topic stations will be published soon.

We warmly suggest you to wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the season and comfortable shoes, as you will be walking in a field. Consider that the temperature will be high and refreshments will be provided to all the participants.
